Canty University
On The Campus...
We work on campus in partnership with other Christian groups and churches to promote biblical teaching that is reliable, relevant and enjoyable. We seek to tell everyone we can of the good news of Jesus Christ.
We work closely with the Christian Union in promoting the LunchtimeBibleTalks. These are series of public Bible talks on campus that aim to encourage and challenge Christians (or those just interested in finding out more). They are held on Tuesdays at 1pm in the Study Room of the UCSA building.
Associated with this group are a series of Bible studies that run on and off campus that follow the topics of the public talks. This gives us a chance to share and discuss how we are responding to the Bible.
What Else Is There...
As well as all this, there are other opportunities:
Campus Church meets each Sunday from 7pm at the Ilam School Hall, 66 Ilam Road, Christchurch.
International Christian Fellowship (ICF) – a group meeting specifically to cater for students from overseas (they meet 5:30pm each Friday at St Hildas in Riccarton)
Why all of this?We provide all these opportunities because the Bible shows us that we can't keep going as Christians on our own. Being part of a church family - as well as the campus group - gives you the chance to be taught by, make friends with, encourage and support Christians of all ages and backgrounds. How can I get involved?* Come along to any of our church meetings and ask a staff member for details. |
