CHCH Polytech
Time and Location
Tuesdays 12.00pm - 12.50pm Room N211 (Nurses block).
Who can attend?
Anyone interested in finding out about Jesus from the the Bible is more than welcome! You don't have to be a Christian, attend a particular church - or any church. You don't have to know anyone in the group. You don't have to read the Bible out loud, pray, sing or clap!
Who are we?
We are a group of people who attend Polytech and are eager to learn about Jesus from the Bible and see what it means for us.
Our group began in 2001 with two people reading the Bible together during lunchtimes. It has since grown to a group of around 12 people. It began with people who attended St John's Anglican Church Latimer Square (which is down the road in Madras St). However, while people still come from this church, there are people attending from many different churches around the city also.
We are a registered group of the Christchurch Polytechnic Students' Association.

The groups are led by Tim Capill (Above left) and Pam Walker (Above right).
Who are both Apprentice Workers at St John's.
What do we do?
We have a meeting at the Madras street campus. Each week on Tuesday, during lunchtime, we look at a part of the Bible and have an interactive talk explaining it. Each session will be finished by 12.50 allowing plenty of time to get to the next class.
There will be a chance for a chat over tea and coffee, and plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. You will be able to eat your lunch during the meeting. This year we are looking the book of Romans which was a letter written by a friend of Jesus to a church in Rome, explaining the basics of what we believe as Christians.
There is also the possibility of meeting with someone one-to-one in order to study the Bible at your own pace.
How can I find out more about the group?
If you would like to know anything more about Polytech Bible Study, please contact Tim or Pam on 366-7744, or by email timcapill@xtra.co.nz. You can also join us on Facebook!
Polytech Bible Study aims to spread the good news of Jesus to CPIT.
We run a weekly interactive meeting where we examine the Bible in a relaxed manner and we don’t force you to read or pray if you don’t want to.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions. So why not come along and learn about Jesus and why He is so important to us?
