Welcome to St John’s Anglican Church

Due to earthquake damage of our buildings, we are currently looking for a new venue for our weekly meetings. We will update this section of our website by 5pm on Friday 10th September to let you know the service details for this Sunday.

Please be praying for us as a congregation during this time. Give thanks to God that we are still able to meet together as His people. Please pray for those among our church family who have damaged homes and pray that the Staff and Vestry would have great wisdom as they make decisions regarding the future.


Who are we?

We are an inner city church in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand. We welcome people at any stage ofChristian understanding and seek to serve everyone who comes here. Information about our gatherings and events are listed, but please do contact us if we can help you further.

Our aim is to know Christ, to serve Christ, and make Christ known. In all our gatherings and groups we endeavour to be Bible based, Christ centered and relevant so that people can understand and respond to the message about our Lord Jesus Christ.
